Join us and our Kitchen Gardener, Abbie Lehman, as we explore the abundant bounty of the Driftless, learning to identify edible plants and mushrooms! The ancient art of foraging is experiencing a resurgence as more people look to reconnect with nature and find sustainable food sources. Enrich your knowledge, palate, and appreciation for the environment in this hands-on, immersive experience.
The event will begin with a lesson from Abbie, a skilled forager! Then, the group will hike the Phoebe Point Trail, using our new knowledge. Halfway through the hike, the group will relax, stop for a snack, and discuss our findings!
Located on the Taliesin property, Phoebe Point Trail is a moderate 1.1-mile “lollipop loop” trail with views of the Wisconsin River.
Plan to arrive at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center by 8:45 a.m. to check in. After checking in you will drive your vehicle to the Phoebe Point Trail. The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. We will talk, hike, and forage until 11:00 a.m.
